Crews Work To Keep Tanker Spill Out Of River
WYFF Greenville

A fuel tanker spill in Rabun County shut down part of Highway 76 Saturday. Police in Oconee, South Carolina said the road re-opened around 8 p.m. Saturday.

Police originally said the crash would keep Highway 76 closed all of Saturday night and until at least noon Sunday.  Authorities said the tanker overturned just before 9 a.m., just over the state line from South Carolina.

The truck was carrying 8,800 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel. Crews from Oconee and Anderson counties responded to help clean-up the spill.

News Channel 7

Crews reopened US 76 in Rabun County, Ga. late Saturday.  A tanker truck overturned early in the morning near the Long Creek community of Oconee County, Sc.  It happened about one mile across the Georgia state line.
